In most cases, natural stone successfully replaces any modern finishing materials as, for example, plastic or metal alloys. It is not only beautiful but also functional. An example is a use of granite and other super hard igneous rocks in premises with highly corrosive environments. First of all, these are premises with high humidity, i.e. bathrooms, WC facilities, baths, pools. The destructive effect of water and water vapour over time will cause corrosion of any metal, but not granite.
Stone products should be treated with care. But the same can be said about anything. As a rule, care for the stone starts immediately after its laying. For example, traces from cement used to fix natural stone tile to a wall or a floor can be seen on such a tile. A special compound that will help to remove the cement shall be purchased. This compound will be also useful in the future when removing various deposits (mould, lime formation) from the stone. Universal stone cleaners shall also be used to remove stains from oil, grease, paint, rust. A nuance to be known concerning the care of the floor made of natural stone: prior to mop up the floor, it must be carefully swept, otherwise, over time, minor scratches will appear and the floor will become dull. For mopping up it is better to use soft rags, as well as special detergents for natural stone. The same can be said about the care of tabletops, window sills, statues, pavilions made of natural stone, i.e. it is better to use special means.
Periodically (as and when required) products made of natural stone must be polished.
In short, the basis for the care of products made of natural stone is the acquisition of special means in the store, most often made in Italy (for example, the Italian company called Bellinzoni represents a large range of such products). And there will be no problems. Such means have a quite fair value. A granite tabletop in the kitchen or a small marble statuette will make happy your family every day for many, many years.
